Light Man was originally built by Doctor Mathias together with Haze Man to find lost people, using his many sources of light, but it didn't worked since LM and HM don't get along each other and they always ended up quarreling.He is respected by any other Robot Master, but is only close friend is Web Man, who likes his courageous and together cautious behaviour in battle.
Since that it is impossible not to see him, LM learnt to have quick reflexes and act bravely to surprise his opponents, and also his weapon, the Light Laser, travels very fast and hits enemy with a concentrated beam of pure solar energy, but its power it's so intense that can also destroy him, so that's why he is weak to Disc Firewall: the energy he shot turns against him and damages him
